I expected that reply... I have eyeballed gold chains the only way it peeped was balling up the chain and actually rubbing it on bottom of coil... I have found 4 gold chains by eyeballing them... generally after storms... I don't go to beach searching for chains... I rather have the melt weight from rings... every now and then I will find a mistake

So, I air-tested the thin, 1.2 gram, 14K, gold chain on the Nox 800 in "gold 2" mode. I did barely get a response but not sure that it would be one that I would dig. I do use the "gold" modes in fresh water but I am not a fan of the "beach" modes and that is why I don't usually go for the Nox near salt water.

Nox is ok in beach 2... I never use 1 I only hunt the wet sand well in my case wet rocks and gravel... I would use my excal but there is so much iron I go with Nox... its like a machine gun where I hunt...
