My hunting partner and I went to Wichitas Planeview park this morning. Our first stop was the old soap box derby track. At the top of the hill I hit on a strong mid 90’s signal and figured it was can slaw. This park is extremely trashy and I’m sure its been pounded over the years! Started digging with my Grave Digger and out popped this beauty! I ended the hunt with about $2 in clad and a live 9mm round.

You may be able to narrow that down to one of 4 kids by looking at that race on KSHSAA website. Bet he or she is a Derby-ite.

The KSHSAA web site only covers state champions for track and field. This is a 5A regional award. Derby was 6A in 2015. The closest Wichita school was Wichita-KMC. Who knows. Odd place to lose a medal!
