Well I went to the shore on Thursday, I went to Somer's Point NJ, its a nice small beach, more my size then the main beach by the boardwalk :!:. Found all junk, but it was more fun because i was finding things along the water! In the dry sand bordering the wet sand. At the end of the day I hit part of the main beach at one end that was only populated by residents and locals, didn't find anything 'cept a few nails and a cool crab shell, but it was fun when i walked along a stone jetty. Then, just before I left i spyed a vacant lot! A house must have been there and was leveled for some reason and the plot was up for sale, my mom convinced me to go scan it, normally i would've needed no convincing, but i was tired. So I break out my MD and scan the area, it was fun, i found a penny (woohoo! big time!) The year on it is 1974. then I was getting too hasty and i fell :( (I'm handicapped, so i'm used to falling ) thankfully only my pride was hurt more then anything . After that i packed up and left.

The sharp looking spike in the pic really scared me, if a kid had been digging there with his/her hands  they could've gotten tetnis or whatever. So now i'm gonna try and remember to let my tools do the digging and not my hands!

I wonder what that plastic piece is from :?:

WTG JasonJay (that's my son's name too)

Looks like you found a copper penny. You read about saving copper pennies didn't you?

Find a nice jar and save all the pennies before 1981.

Gee I have no clue what the plastic thing is.

The plastic object resembles a retainer used to attach a snorkle to the strap of a face mask. The one shown is different from most, so I would guess it was from a kids mask & snorkle.

I just love it when other hunters discrim out the junk with their tectors,,,,they also leave the Gold behind for others to find it on the beach's & in the water! Don't be concerned about falling over, you don't need to have a health challenge to do that, just ask the guys I hunt with, I'm 6'4" and have been seen doing just that on occassions, and it's hard to miss that, lol! Good luck on your future hunts,,H.H.:-)
