I got up this morning sore and stiff as he** and swore no detecting for a few days to let my body recover. So, I cleaned all my detectors and earphones and stuff and put them all neatly away. Then I opened the forum....
And that darned Waterman had posted an invitation to meet at Gull Lake!
SO... 1/2 an hour later I'm on the highway headed south in a howling wind with snow and rain forcast.
Luckily we didn't get any rain or snow but man it was cold on that beach with the wind coming straight down the lake.
I got into the water for a while but fighting the waves breaking against me wasn't doing my back any good so I retreated and hunted the beach with Dale and Mike.
And I found a cache! One that had me kneeling in the mud laughing...
Yep...thats right. A plastic bottle with 5 shiny pennies inside. It never ceases to amaze me the odd things you find on a beach. The tin for a geometry set was with the bottles. I haven't thought up an explanation for that yet.
Here are Waterman and Dale. I'll let them explain this pose, it wasn't THAT cold!
Then again maybe Dale is trying to sneak the ring Waterman got.....
Dale got a real nice old pin or broach and Waterman..well I'll let him post his find.
And here it is...My treasure for the day!
Ok..stop snickering, it's more than seven times as much as I found yesterday. I kinda like the old brass whistle, it was my only keeper from the lake itself. Not much for finds but a great day out having fun with friends.
HH all, if you can't find treasure I hope you at least find yourself having fun too.
