How to properly dig?

I am awaiting the arrival of my Vaquero from Tony and was just wondering what is the proper way to dig your finds without making a mess of the area? One school yard that I may go to has recently sewed bermuda grass in one area and I don't want to mess it up to where I might lose my access. I know this is probably posted somewhere on here but I couldn't find it.

Try a Zip Lock bag

Hello and welcome. You might want to consider using a plastic bag from Zip Lock. They now are available in 2 gals size, which is just the right size to hold your dirt. This allows you to poor the dirt back in the hole. Neat and clean. Have a great day.
