I'm thinking that someone had some explaining to do when they got home. Might have been going through the folks coin collection, maybe. Any way, 4 inches down, Short Center Field.

If the ballfield pre-dates 1964, then it could be a legitimate loss/drop from back then. I'm 51 years old and I can remember when I was a young kid my dad bringing home a couple of Morgan and Peace dollars from the bank a time or two. There was also an elderly lady that lived two doors away from us that paid my two older brothers with a silver dollar for shoveling snow out of her driveway after a particularly bad winter storm. They weren't real common to see, but they did pop up every so often in change, or as a birthday gift.

congrats on the Morgan!!! I remember diggin my first Morgan like it was yesterday,was diggin near the stone foundation of an old home and out popped a Morgan :tumble: ,same year as yours but not near as good condition as yours.
