I’ve been trying to find a new site for months with no luck. I’ve hit 10 new permissions since the new year with almost nothing to show for my effort. Only the site I went back to today has produced. This site is in the woods but there’s not much weeds or brush so its still good to swing. I was hoping to find one old button. I did that and more. Found six buttons a pewter spoon and a pewter handle that has the letters FS on the back of the handle. My favorite find is this piece of jewelry. I would have like to see what it looked like new. Nothing I found has any value but I love finding these old things. It was a good pick me up. Now I’m ready to start knocking on some more doors.

Love those buttons. They have late 1700s to early 1800s written all over them.

I think this site was early 1800s it’s not on any of my 1860s maps. No trash at all aside from shot gun shells. So if it isn’t iron I did it. My favorite kind of site!
Of corse no silver.☹️

Awesome relics. Love those old buttons. I enjoy hunting in the woods. Nice and peaceful with nobody else around. Damn bugs are getting pretty bad this time of year though.

Interesting finds assemblage! Can you see the backside of the stone in the jewelry piece or is it covered up by a bezel? What metal do you figure? If you have a stone that has lost its transparency to see within, try putting some mineral oil on it lightly and it will make it more transparent until it rubs off.

The stone or glass is milky clear. It has a line down the middle but it’s not strait witch makes me think its natural. It also has a crack in it. My wife thinks it’s a brooch worn on the neck or collar. This thing is pretty coming out of the ground. It was probably very special to the lady that wore it.
