Found this neat electric razor today right in the woods next to my house.

In rough shape though.
In reasearching it, it appears to be one of the very first electric razors ever made by Schick.

Back engraved with:
Schick Dry Shaver Inc.
Cat 240
Stamford Conn. USA

Research I found shows:
Schick's electric dry shaver was not enjoying the overwhelming public acceptance, envisioned by the inventor, in 1929. The early electric consisted of a small electric motor connected to a flexible shaft arrangement which terminated in a shaving head. Even so, he was able to open a factory in Stamford, Connecticut which employed 100 people.

In 1940, Schick Dry Shaver was incorporated in Delaware as Rainbow, Inc. In 1946, the name was changed to Schick, Inc.

Had to be prior to 1940 if they moved and changed names.

Also found a nice photo of it here:

Pretty cool going into a hole never knowing what you're gonna pull out. I love this new hobby!

Great find, wow. :wow:

I liked reading his biography too. I'll have to check out the rest of that website.

A razor, wow! I could hunt for 1000 years and never find something like that. Neat and very unusual find.

And this was on only my 3rd outing ever. I'm sooo itching to find me a nice old coin. Who knows, a nice 3 day weekend and the weather here is to be sunny and 70 - 80 the whole 3 days so guess what I'm doing this weekend...lol
