Welcome to a great site and super find!! I am sorta new to the hobby myself so what do you know about the eagle coin(?) you found?

The flying Eagle coin is the first small cent made ,1856 to 1858 I know if it was 1856 ... id be a happy guy....lol im happy with it anyway :D

Wow!!

Thanks! That's even a better find then I realized! What did you use to clean it up so well?

I tried petro.jelly but the stuff was too crusty and refused to come off...after reading Jeff's post on the beautiful 1899 indian head he found... i decided to try the toothpick and it worked great...thanks :D

welcome and congrats on the eagle cent! it cleaned up very nicely. i know i am proud of my first and only flying eagle so i know how you feel.

Sweet find Bri! Blows my scheidmunze away! The toothpick worked better than the hi-speed wire grinding wheel.

Nice coin! Excellent condition - much better than the one I found.

Super nice find! I have done the toothpick thing too and it seems to work well on those crusty coins.

Thanks everyone...I hope to post some more of my finds soon...I have a few cool things that i have found...Peace Brian :D
