Forum Gift Exchange Rules

Here's the gift exchange rules compiled, so you won't have to browse the whole thread.

1. The gift needs to be something you already own and are not using, preferably metal detecting related. Something simple, and something nice, and something you wouldn't mind receiving yourself. A cool find, metal detecting book or magazines, headlamp, flashlight, or even a group of items with at least a $10. value.

2. On Christmas Day I'll gather the names, write them on slips of paper, put them in a hat, and draw 2 names at a time, and post on this thread who exchanges gifts with whom. The cutoff time is 6 PM CST Christmas Day.

3. Then "members" will then have to switch addresses with whomever you've been matched with, via PM's. You have 1 week to mail the gift.
ALL gifts must be mailed before New Years Eve.

4. If you would like to post a picture of the gift you receive afterwords on this thread, that would be great to see what everybody got!

I wrote everyones name down, and it looks like there are 34 of us. A really good turnout! That makes 17 exchanges.

The sign up closes at 6 PM CST

Vlad and I are invited to dinner tonight at a friends home. So I'll have to take my laptop, and I'll be posting the exchange list on this thread at their house.

I'll have our friend Rich Rice pull the names out of the hat, and I'll post some pictures too.

Okay. We're here at Rich and Elle's. Rich is the former president of the Rhode Island metal detecting club. Yep, he moved to South Dakota too.

The signup for the Gift Exchange is officially closed.

Rich has agreed to draw the names.

I'll be posting the list shortly.

Okay the names are drawn, and 2 things have happened.

1. Somehow AceGVSU11 wound up in the above list twice. So that means we have 33 members instead of 34.

2. Amazingly, my name was drawn last, so I will step out of the gift exchange, and save my gift for a future contest prize.

Rich drew the names out of the basket one by one, and I taped them together with scotch tape.
