filling holes

I preach and teach these young men that no one can ever take away your skills and ethics. Makes me feel good. Rant from a 66 year old man.
I'm fortunate that I have two grandsons that I feel have had the smarts to listen to me when I told them to pursue skilled trades instead of white collar office style careers. I'm not by any means degrading those who have successful admin type jobs, but it's a matter of logic. If it turns, rotates, or slides, it WILL break down at some point in time. That is when you call in the people who can get it back running. Skilled tradespeople. We are, and always be a necessary evil to industry. They hate to pay us until it breaks. I've been a skilled tradesman since 1968 and wouldn't trade it for anything.:waytogo:

Big time respect for you hoser!!! I wore suits until I was 35, real estate broker who bought houses. Time and time again I ended up having to fix what I had paid for from contractors. I LOVE building, fixing and making things. Sorry to hijack this thread about filling holes.

I always fill my holes. Here's one I found the other day, dang squirrels.

Skunks love to pull out the plugs. First time I detected my yard I was shocked to go out the next morning and see 20 of my plugs pulled out of the ground. I cleaned everything up and set up my trail camera. Sure enough, 1 skunk came in that night and pulled out plug after plug. Easy meal for them. Flip the plugs, grab any worms or grubs, and move to the next. Stinkers...

Dogs! Burying stuff. Digging it back up. Frolicking! Love'm , but they can be high maintenance. They are forever looking for a shady spot to flop in summer and dig up the cool, humid dirt making a hole to lounge in. Soft, metal-detected dirt is good. No froo froo dogs. Pickup truck dogs. I miss my setters.
Cats can be diggers too. Looking for a sand box. Soft dirt preferred.
So many animals are diggers! Prairie dogs share their burrows with burrowing owls out west or they are lunch for red- tailed hawks. In the tropics there are burrowing crabs and rooting feral pigs, in addition to the dogs and cats.
I'm going to blame animals for everything
