I don't get to detect much lately, but I am noticing that my Excalibur II gives false signals when in very shallow salt water where the sea meets the beach in minimal wave lapping action, and also in deeper salt water with waves as the wave goes by. The falseing is so great it is difficult or impossible to detect. I run the sensitivity on auto and the discrimination on 1. My coil wire is not tightly wound on the shaft and I carry the control housing on my waste or chest. Any suggestions to alter what I am doing to elimiminate this falsing is appreciated.

I get a little falsing which is normal with mine but you want it slightly hot. Just make sure the connections are good and if you feel inclined change your sensitivity

I never run on auto, I start at 8 then lower till the falseing is gone. Usually around 6.5 Also I find that same location but different sea conditions require different settings
