Hey all,
I assure you this isn't my first post here, it's been quite a few years though and had to sign up again, used to be on all the forums as MtPockets.
Anyways..
So on one of my Excal II's that hasn't had much use, I have the GG amphibians on it with volume control, My cable went bad, typical crumbling, so detector pro had sent me a new cable this way I can re-string em.
I've recently heard that they don't make them anymore do to failures from rusting out I believe, think OBN had mentioned that in the past. Well, I haven't had that issue just yet myself, atleast don't think so until I open them up and have a look inside.
Has anyone Diy'd a new cable of their own? I'm asking because I'd like to know if theirs a best way to separate the black covers from the base of the headphones? Like heat gun or something.. I have the pod cap drilled and wired so far..
Also, "When" they do finally fail after I replace the cable, are the GG 3030s worth the investment to completely replace them with? Along with having to also purchase the 3030 pod endcaps.
Btw! Anyone hear of a possible Excalibur upgrade in near future?
