A big congrats to ROBOTCOP13 whose guess of 1347 was only 4 away from the actual amount.

ROBOTCOP13 kept two guesses throughout the contest. No idea how he did that!

I know!! I couldn't believe I found that many. To be fair though, some were laying on top and I snagged them before they got buried in the sand. I clean everything out of some of my hunting grounds. After the raft off and some weekends at Poor Man's beach, the bottom is littered with them and when I am diving I just grab them and put them in my finds bag. However, I do have a lot of the old beaver tail tabs also.

They are easy to fan and grab, they don't bother me that much underwater.

I just woke up, what a dream.

I'm now looking at the results and the difference between JMAC and me was just 2 pull tabs!

I'm retiring my old scoop to be a shark thumper.

Now I have to upgrade my wardrobe. I'm getting new flip flops.
 
Congratulations ROBOTCOP. Very impressive ! Impressive scoop, that is :laughing: Just kidding, but you really got to share with the rest of us, how you managed to count that pile of tabs. I know there is a certain amount of guessing involved, but still, you got to make that an educated guess, eh ? :D

and SCUBA, once again, thank you for putting on such a wonderful contest. What a commendable deed you have done ! :clapping:

And on a side note: You know, after all of that, it's really hard to believe, that a small few (a very small few), felt compelled to throw sour grapes at Scuba, after all he's done. Personally, I have very little toleration for that. Scuba, I applaud you for holding your tongue, and allowing it to run off, like "water on a wet suit". I would have probably been booted from the forum by now. Again, hang in there. You did good.

Scuba, you are the "contest guy", for sure.....:dingding:

Well your dream will be a reality pretty soon. I notified Sunspot this morning and I was told your prize will be in the mail no later than tomorrow.

As soon as they supply me with a tracking number I will notify you.

Thanks for the kind words. I will say when I have another scoop contest that it will be harder and not easier.

My feelings are if you really want something that nice you will want to work for it. Certainly there will be luck involved. I learned some things with this contest and I really hope the next one will go much smoother.

However, don't expect me to make an easy contest for a nice prize. It just won't happen.

I asked Vlad for special permission to hold a scoop contest on this thread. I probably won't be doing that again. My goal was to have a water hunter win it hopefully, and not a land hunter who would just sell it. Looks like that succeeded.

I found 18 walkers in the water last summer and have given away 5 now. That gives me 13 more to play with. Those will be for relatively easy contests.

So stay tuned everyone. It might be fall but some hopefully awesome contests will be coming your way!
