Cheap Pin pointer Lanyard

Recently purchased a Garret Pro-Pointer, and while looking for a D.I.Y. lanyard , to hopefully prevent me from leaving the pinpointer behind, I stumbled upon a possible solution, and cheap one at that.

Harbor Freight carries a 24 inch bungee cord with aluminum carabiners on each end, for the grand total of $2.99.

Added a ring to the end of the pro pointer for the carabiner to clip into, and as a trial, I clipped the carabiner to my belt, and the pinpointer reaches to the top of my foot, but does not touch the ground. (I'm 6' tall), and will extend to arms-length with mild tension on the bungee.

Haven't tied the pinpointer lanyard in a detecting situation yet, but it might just work. My plan is to use the lanyard, in addition to the Garrett pinpointer holster

There are lots of "coiled" ones so that they don't have to be that long all of the time, but will reach where you need them to. Also, if you wear Cargo Pants with a Side Pocket, the Pinpointer slips right in... works Awesome!

That's what I was thinking about getting. I like the idea of not getting snagged on brush.

Go into your local indian casino. Sign up for a player's card. It will have a coil tether. Put it on your pointer. Do not go back to the casino.
