Button ID help please

I found this button at Colonial site.Can't find any info on it at. Shaped like a bird,has a round shield? in the center.Any clues would be appreciated.

I'd put money on the overall shape being cut after the fact. I have not seen the center logo before though, maybe colonial x-men?

I believe it is British. Where was this found roughly?

Found at a Rev war camp.It's a Scots Guard button.

I get it, what state because it is similar to mine dug in Hampton, Va. Except mine is not a flat button. I'm just trying to figure out if there is a link between them.

Found it in NJ close to the Delaware River.The Scots Guard came from NY and were sent to the Chesapeake Bay and back.Dropping buttons for us along the way.
