On July 29th at 9:00pm one of the largest and longest canoe races will begin. The AuSable River Canoe Marathon is a grueling, non-stop 120 mile canoe race starting in Grayling and ending in Oscoda. Elite paddlers from across the world battle portages, darkness and fatigue as they navigate the scenic and challenging course. The race is very cool to follow, but the beginning is pure pandemonium to see. For those of you that are interested you can watch the race start by going on WWW.9and10news.com. Go to weather, at the top of the page and look for weather cams. Click on Ausable Canoe Marathon. Hopefully the site won't be overwhelmed so you can watch. Grab the popcorn!
