@mascard1 Here is my reply to your thread on Finds

I have been thinking about purchasing a Nexus MPv3 or MPv2 for quite some time now, but every time I think about the cost of one of those two detectors and the risk involved in getting one delivered in to the U.S it stops me from placing an order for one of the two, I actually inquired about getting a MPv3 shipped to me and received a price Quote from Nexus with two coils and the quote was around $2700 U.S, its not the money they get for them its the thought of what if it gets into customs in the U.S and then U.S Customs pulls what they did on a 18 inch coil I ordered from Golden Mask which is another Bulgarian Metal detector Manufacture I just cannot take that risk again

I would love to have a Nexus detector

@mascard1 you need to look up Paul Warren on You Tube he is a big time advocate for Nexus, Golden Mask, Deep Tech and several other Beep and dig detectors Paul has some good videos of him using the Nexus MPv3 and the Nexus Credo detectors Paul Warren is in the U.K very knowledgeable on the Nexus detectors

Agreed

That guy can dig fast. What makes that detector so expensive?

Mark in Michigan
No clue on why they are so expensive

I do know when you order one you have to pay up first and then it takes 3-4 months before it ships out to you, i believe they are custom made for each individual that orders one, as I said I have always wanted one of the MPv2 or MPv3s but the risk is just to great for me personally to place an order

Everything I have ever read about the Nexus detectors, and the videos I have watched on them are very impressive

I saw what happened to your coil what I want to know is how in the world do swine pull the trigger on electric drills?

$2700 for a detector that uses 10 AA batteries, can only be repaired by one person, only a single frequency per very expensive coil, and whos only "innovation" is that it uses a color LED instead of VDI? No thanks.

Nothing against having a single frequency analogue in the arsenal, but this one is pricey and risky, especially considering it would be very difficult to resell.

Ok, but it comes with a 70's mood ring and lava lamp!
Haha, not to mention it won't work on a salt water beach, isn't water proof, isn't weather proof, and the manual says "The detector should not be used in wet conditions and damage caused by use in wet conditions are not covered under the warranty." It sure seems like some surprise rain will break your detector and leave you without warranty, or maybe even just wet grass?. I am guessing based on the fact coils start at $400 and range into the thousands of dollars, getting a repair job done is going to be very pricey and you will have no choice but to accept it.

Outrageously expensive, questionable support, archaic technology, and very limited in what it can do. How can I go wrong? lol
