Not high value this time, only 9k, but it'll add up! The water was freezing cold, I could only manage 4hrs

You are on a good little gold run of late ! How deep do you typically find these ?

Way to go! I prefer winter hunting, but can't get in the water. Love those signet ring finds! I will trade you though. I'm slowly collecting dental gold

Nice LJ... love the oldies you are finding.... what do you consider cold water? I have hunted in 30 degree water but I was dressed for it with neoprene over ski pants plus gauntlet gloves with a couple hot hands in each glove with air temps at 14 degrees.. these are in fahrenheit.

Anywhere from 9 to 14 inches is pretty normal. A really big ring I can pick at 16 maybe more. It's hard to go deeper than 16 inches underwater though because the sand just rolls back into the hole as fast as you can dig it, so you have to widen the hole significantly.

hah, it was 17c today. I was only in a 3mm wetsuite though. You can keep that snow and ice stuff!

I think he meant how deep is the water you're finding the rings in? Nice video by the way.

Pretty much the same results here. Except in the wash it loses depth and sensitivity probably from the air bubbles. We usually have just sand with few shells. Some areas you may dig 30 scoops trying to get 14" deep. And my scoop is 9" wide. The real deep ones if I start guessing it's a sinker I have to leave it or drown.

There's one exception I've found, and it's when the sand has washed out and I'm down to basically bedrock. When that occurs and I'm hunting the crevices and remaining pockets, I can slow right down and max out the D2 and check to see if even the slightest blip will repeat. It'll make a squeak on big gold well past 16 in those conditions, and I don't have to fight the sand so much. When I see those conditions underwater I get excited.

:dingding: Another nice trio! I think I'm going to start checking out your YT videos. I'm getting tired of your other counterpart down there with his "product endorsement videos".
