Advice please

Hi my name is Jim I have just joined the group and I’m looking for some advice please, I’m flying to Scotland next month and was wondering would I be able to take my metal detector on the plane in my case or hand luggage or not at all.

I hear of a lot of people going over with the detectors. I would guess it’s no big deal but I don’t know for sure.

Yes I have a pre arranged area to hunt on my brothers farm, the detector I would like to take is a equinox 900.

I just flew to Vegas a few weeks back and lithium batteries are not aloud to be in checked luggage they must stay in carry on in pressurized cabin . with the 20 times they announced it before boarding I sat there thinking about the newer detectors so many use that have built in rechargeable batteries and if they are easily removable or do the hard cases I've seen with what I believe is a pressure valve of some kind would do the trick . of course by the time I boarded the plane I made up my mind I'll only detect where I can drive to in my van which 49 out 50 US states is possible . Of course with my garret AT Max battery removal is simple and the garrett carrot to be in a hard case but my headphones would need to be with me in pressurized cabin along with all batteries for other 2 . For me personally way to much extra bs and stress to travel by plane to detect somewhere ....

i'd say call your airline ahead of time for all specifics this was my first experience with it but I know many people fly around the world multiple times a year to detect and take all their gear x2 ...

Shouldn't be a problem to carry on the plane since it has a telescopic shaft to make it short enough to fit in the overhead compartments.

Yes I hag thought of that but not sure if it would be allowed in the cabin with the battery in the pod.
