I live in a vey active low flying military area (250 -2000 feet) most aircraft are rotary wing with the main ones being FAA (Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm) Wildcats and Merlins

The occasional Army Apache and RAF Chinook will come low level around the hills and fields where I detect.

Myself and my buddy were searching a local field when I head what I knew to be a Chinook by the engine sound coming through low level.

What I did not expect was for the aircraft to land just in front of us......amazing!

Thanks for looking..........Doug.

Chinook 'turning and burning' on the ground.

Now you did run over there and tell them you were there first right!:rofl2: How woood trying to sneak in from the air.:rofl2: It would have been cool to see. The Michigan National guard fly's over here quite often as well.
