1764 two reale, 1800 half reale, buttons, etc...

Super finds ! Love all of it... Looks like a great location to keep going at it.. Thanks for sharing

Can you take a minute and explain the buttons ? Are they a west coast thing ? Never found one next to a copper

Congrats to you and your buddies on the excellent finds, Tom! :woot:

Great finds Tom!

wolf-dog, vermonster, partsman & jbrow : thanx for coming along on our hunt !

Congratulations on the fantastic finds Tom. I'm always interested to see what new things you've turned up. Really wish this area (PNW) had some older history. We feel really lucky if we can turn up any later dated seated coin, let alone early American silver, colonials or Spanish silver. Keep it coming.

Yes. If I gripe that my part of the USA isn't dripping with 1600 & 1700s coins (like the east coast guys get out of every sandbox), then I guess it can't get worse than the Seattle Pac NW area. About the last part of the USA to get any appreciable European exploration/settlement.

C’mon man…MORE Reales?? It’s interesting to see the progression of the hobby in some people and the types of finds that come from different parts of the country…and different types of sites. Start with clad, wind up not settling for less than Reales. That’s going for the gusto there mister! Incredible stuff as always Tom, fine show!

thanx IDX-monster. I aim to please :cool3:

Nice pics Tom. Like you say location location location is the key to finding the type of coins and relics you post. Keep up the good work and look forward to your next post.

Yikes ! You guys had a dig fest. Dosen't look like you hit my spot. So is your goal the reales and buttons , maybe seateds when you hit these spots ? Must have been a bit warm out there.

Dang tom if it wasn't for this being your post and those phoenix buttons... I would swear this was an east coast site! Well done!

Amazing finds, thanks for sharing the story and pics!

Definitely a few very nice recoveries. I really like the Phoenix buttons, congrats!

Nice historical finds!

Kob, no, this wasn't your spot so far. But as soon as I have "pressing business" down your way, I aim to check that out. Based on my history study of the spot, it seems to be WWII era and later. But still .... given the lack-of-hunters there, I can see how it is begging to be exploited for normal silver ! Thanx !

For us/me to be compared to the east coast dated-finds, is quite a compliment ! Thanx Tpmetal :)

Wow. They do exist. Wish I knew of Spanish being found up here. Nice job for you and your buddy Tom. Those buttons are killer as well.

ATTABOY Tom ! Stellar saves as usual with a great in depth report. Congrats to you and all your buddies on some fine hunting and great recoveries. Mark

A two reale? Man, I'd kill for one of them. I guess New Englanders were poor back in the day. All I ever find around here are 1/2 reales. Congrats!

Hey there free-bird-Tim : Yes, half reales are the most common here. Next is 1 reales. But 2's and 4's and 8's are very difficult. I've gotten perhaps 8 or 10 twos, a single 4, and NO 8's (durnit )

For example, I'm thinking of a site that gave up 34 reales to me so far, and they are ALL halves and ones. As were the ones my buddies found there. And only one or two two reales ever came from the place. And no 4's or 8s.

Maybe it's not unlike park hunting : You'll get FAR MORE wheat pennies and mercury dimes before you'll get a silver washington or walker half. I guess the ratios were the same in the old days too, of larger vs smaller silver coins.

This is the first time I've seen a Phoenix button. Great finds, man!

Congrats Tom! Those would make my year by far!
