Finally breaking out of the silver slump with 4 silvers in the last seven days. I had a new permission for part of a hospital side yard on May 11th. The hospital has been there since the early 50s. Nice spot with some trees covering a long grassy area. Pulled out 40 coins, including a '45 Merc, a '57 wheatie, and had a 9-coin spill in one spot. Pretty nice visit. Pic of the yard in the bunch attached.
Second spot was an old ball field I've visited quite a few times. In the past, it has provided a lot of good coins, including 11 silvers and more than 40 other old coins, like wheats, Buffs, and a V nickel. Today, the spot came thru for me again, using a slightly different recovery speed of 5 on my Legend. First coin I grabbed as a '51D wheatie, which was encouraging. I was getting clad in lots of spots around the field. Had a couple dozen in my bag when I got a target that was kind of iffy. I was thinking maybe a zincoln or possibly a dime as the tone was scratchy and not really consistent. I was really surprised when I dug it and scored a very nice 1962 Washington in right field. Pic of the ballfield from out in left field in the attached. I scratched George's face a little, but I hope he doesn't mind too much. Overall, I grabbed 44 coins out of the field again, bringing my ball field total to 231 this year, and this Merc and Wash got me to my 12th and 13th silvers for the year so far. Thanks for looking.
