Stunning find! Congratulations!
What we all dream about!
That's what I started thinking about a couple of days later, is what else will I actually be able to find that will top this? it will have to be a very nice ring with a lot of diamonds in it....
I won't stop trying I love the hunt!

I have only been back into the hobby for about 2 and 1/2 months it's like a first time golfer going out and hitting a hole in one! I'm sure guys have metal detected for the better part of their lives and not found this much gold in one hole. See a lot of the Florida guys and California guys on YouTube finding big heavy chains at the beach unfortunately here in Washington we don't have beaches Sandy like the ones in California and Florida most of them are very rocky.

The only reason I dug this target was because it was showing to be only 2-4 inches down. Glad I did! I dug probably 40 aluminum blobs out of the sand and a bunch of caps and ptabs. Honestly the numbers were all over the place and I thought it was another blob of aluminum. My heart skipped a beat when I saw that gold color! Just makes you wonder how much gold and silver is in the ground and nobody has swung a detector over it!

My theory is that it came out of a bezel. It's hard to think of why some investor was "carrying around his coin". So I theorize a jewelry loss.

But hey, anything's possible. People could be carrying coins from their coin-collection. I knew a guy who found a seated quarter , on the beach-dry sand, that he knew was a recent non-jewelry loss. Why ? Easy : It was still in the plastic sleeve with the coin-store price tag still on it. Doh ! Apparently some tourist had just bought it at this tourist-towns coin-store. Then promptly went to the beach and lost it. Doh !
