Not that it would prove anything either way other than simply being an opinion poll, but maybe the OP should first add a simple poll where members could chose either of a few options like:

I haven't got the vaccine and don't plan to

I haven't got the vaccine but do plan to

I have gotten the vaccine

I haven't decided for sure either way yet

I never said we should wait. You didn't read my post close enough. I said for those in the groups most effected by COVID bad outcomes it might not be a bad idea to get vaccinated. It's those who do not fall into the age related or numerous co-morbidity groups who I think probably really don't need a vaccine and should not be badgered, pushed, or forced into getting one.

Also if all you do is watch the news and are not reading and researching actual peer reviewed data on COVID your being brainwashed/spun. CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, never take a skeptical look at anything COVID related. Complete misinformation to half truths is all you get from them. I can't remember the last time they reported anything but approved Democrat or Biden administration talking points.

Ask yourself why every illegal migrant isn't getting vaccinated as they are processed. Or at least being held until they are tested and cleared. So I might be forced to take a jab when an illegal can waltz right in.
 
The only way that I would get a covid shot was if my job made it mandatory. I have nothing against anyone that gets one or as many as they are coming out with. This is America, so far we still have rights but they are starting to become limited and that being said I believe that I have the right not to get one. Getting the shot wearing a mask or not getting the shot and not wearing a mask either way how does one spread the virus if they do not have it.

I think what a lot of people refuse to acknowledge is that it isn't all about you. The protection is for those around you as well. That means your choice also affects those around you.

Also, people don't realize there is more they're not aware of because they are hearing only what they want. Do most of you know that the main concern about the new Delta variant isn't so much that it is more spreadable, but that if you catch it, you're more likely to create and spread another new variant, and start the process all over again. That is where a lot of the danger is.

Details of the testing done are not inspiring. Normally takes years and years. On top of that no gene therapy drug has ever been successful. Moderna tried what, nine times and failed! This was known at the beginning by anyone who cared to investigate.

Because proper testing was not done and these gene therapy's were rushed out under an EUA is why we are hearing re-infected vaccinated people can have a much higher viral load than a non vaccinated infected person, becoming super spreaders.
Guess what? That's why the CDC wants everyone masked again.

No---- it looks like I need protection from the vaccinated! To go further maybe vaccinated people should not drive or fly aircraft either, if they stroke out while driving or flying planes they are going to kill people.

My early treatments/prophylaxis prevent covid entirely or reduce symptoms and ensure recovery. And wont kill or maim me. How does that make me a danger to anyone?
 
We Have Covid Right Now

Mrs. atomicbrh and I have Covid right now.
I have not had any kind of vaccine or injection in probably over 25 years.
Mrs. atomicbrh has not had a vaccine in many years either.
We both spent our entire adult life working in patient care.
Our health improved greatly after we stopped the vaccines.
We have not been sick nearly as much. Practically no influenza.
We feel it is a person's personal decision to take or not take the vaccine.
We are not telling anybody what to do.
This disease has weird symptoms. It is like nothing I have experienced before.
There is a mental aspect to this thing that causes a person to take care of themselves incorrectly.
If an effective vaccine is ever designed that completely 100 percent eradicates the disease without boosters, I will probably take it.
Meanwhile, we are checking O2 Sat rates, heart rates and temps all throughout the day to determine if we need to head in to the medical center.
 
Those who wish to disparage others by ethnicity find another forum for it because its not going to be tolerated here...

Maybe I'm just a grumpy, old opinionated SOB, but let me ask this question.
(Particularly of those who have not/will not get vaccinated.)

I'll concede that you have your rights and freedom of choice, and I'll stand right beside you while you declare as such, BUT.........

Do you really think that virus gives a damn about your rights? About your freedom of choice?

That virus knows these things.....find a host, infect a host, multiply inside that host, and spread from host to host. And if it kills that host in the process, too bad for the host.
It doesn't feel pain, or remorse, or guilt, or sorrow.

It's the virus, not our governing bodies, that are dictating the precautionary methods. Don't let your own reasoning, faulty or otherwise, cloud your judgement as to what's best for the human race when it comes to matters like this.

I haven’t seen a doctor in I’ll bet 20 years,maybe more. No physicals,etc,notta. Occasionally I go to the dentist to get a cleaning,or a tooth fixed but I’ll be the first to say doctors and hospitals freak me out.. But, I went and got my covid vaccine at our llocal Mr. Rogers center here in Latrobe Pennsylvania. After seeing the coroner and paramedics suit up like beekeepers and drag my neighbor out of his home in a body bag I couldn’t get on the list fast enough for the vaccine. Yes,my neighbor died of covid 19.
But I understand we all make out own decisions,just hope everyone is safe from that covid.

This is nothing more than misinformation meant to keep the paranoid, paranoid.

"The vaccines for the novel coronavirus went through the same layers of review and testing as other vaccines. Due to the dire nature of the pandemic, certain barriers to development, related to funding and manufacturing, were removed."

The same testing, just done much faster by bypassing processes, like funding, that normally slow the testing down.

People need to educate themselves, and they would be in a much better position to understand why things are being done the way they are.

We're being pitted against each other through a lot of misinformation in an attempt to keep us fighting against each other instead of questioning our *cough* leaders on the political games they're playing with the virus to manipulate We The People.
 
I don't believe that any vaccine is 100% effective, although nearly so. However, if the herd immunity is there, such that everyone has a 99% chance of not catching it, it would be very hard to spread. That is why they want widespread vaccinations.

I got the vaccine due to many other health concerns, and if I do get COVID-19+variant, I would rather just stay at home rather than have to be admitted to a hospital to experience the HMO's $500 deductible. All I have heard from reputable sources say getting the vaccine may not prevent 100% of the cases, but it does lower the chance of being hospitalized considerably.

I don't know how far this thread is from being shut down, but I don't believe the moderators will tolerate much more of having to delete posts.

I am retired so no mandatory rules from a job about a mask or shot.
65 years old and refuse to be told what to do.
I see you have to be very careful of what you are allowed to post on this thread.
It's ok if you have the same opinion as some on here, while opposing opinions don't count.
