The sun came out this afternoon so I decided to head out detecting for an hour after work. I went to a homesite close by that I've been to a few times. I had already found a silver spoon in really great shape as well as a 1857 Bank of Upper Canada penny and a 1891 Indian Head cent (which was my first being up here in Canada). The pine needles are really thick at this location so signals are a bit quieter than usual. Luckily that didn't stop me from finding this beauty! My first 1800s silver coin! An 1880 Canadian quarter in amazing shape! I've been detecting for a little over a year now but I'm not sure I'll ever be able to top this one!
If anyone has information about this coin or knows it's value I'd love to hear about it! So ecstatic to have finally reached this milestone! A priceless find to me
Also, if anyone is interested, I actually recorded the dig for fun before realising what it was:
