I have a good friend that is making a killing selling off what he has. He sold 1100 .22LR rds for $240 on gun broker

That's kind of tempting. What I need to do is reload enough to meet what I have on hand that I bought commercially, then sell the commercial stuff. I'd really like to sell reloads (I can load plenty of 30-30 and it's going for $5 a round if you find the right sucker) but I don't want to deal with the FFL to manufacture ammo for sale.

I considered that myself, but replacing the ammo would be very difficult, and it's not worth it to me right now to end up with not enough to shoot. As it is I don't shoot often because of the replacement cost.

If you're selling ammo, skip the gun broker fees, hit me up if you have 45-70 or 6.5 cm. 😅

Well, today KT was out and about to eat lunch and visit a few pawn shops. First shop did not have the pistol His Majesty was looking for, but had a reasonable stock of ammo! Fortunately, there were some of the calibers He was looking for, including some boxes of .410 shells #8 shot, so KT picked up a few boxes! Then on to Wendy's and a Dave's single combo! Onward to the second pawn shop, and only a .44 mag western style revolver...just to darn big a pistol and His Majesty is not interested in having to build another caliber ammo stock! However, they had some 12 gauge slugs, at $2.00 a box less than what KT had been buying at the high priced gun dealer shop! So picked up two more boxes. Along with that, they had some American made CCI Blazer .380 so got a box of that. Finally onward to the third shop, where KT found two nice Ruger .357 revolvers, newer models, one with hammer and one without, stainless. KT had been hoping to pick up another Ruger Security Six double action, but that appears impossible locally, so KT put some money down on the used model that was nice and around $50 less than the new one. When He went to pay the owner, he said, "Oh you will like this pistol, it was mine. No more than a dozen rounds of .357 run through it." KT has a strong affinity for Ruger handguns!

So in summary, it appears that at least at some ammo dealers, things are starting locally to ease up concerning the scarcity of ammo.

Will pay this hand gun off as soon as the Biden money hits the Royal Bank Account!!:laughing:

357's are awesome as you can also stock up on 38 Special ammo for them . Ruger makes some fine guns at great prices and stainless is the way to go . Sounds like the King did quite well .The Surgeon has an affinity toward
the old Ruger Mark 1 semi-auto 22 pistols and the newer improved offerings of this design .Enjoy your new shooter !

KT had one of those Ruger Mark 1 semi-auto .22 pistols years ago, and yes, it was a darn fine shooter! KT just finished watching several review videos on this new to KT Ruger SP-101, liking Hickock's review the best! Shooters call this gun "The Tank" because it will never wear out due to its heavy construction. He is still wondering why this hand gun is presently the best selling revolver out there!:lol: It is a bit too heavy at 26 oz for concealed carry, and when shooting .357 rounds, a bit too bitey for his hand, but this is a great Truck gun. It will shoot .38s, .357, and 38s+P ammo. KT will now have two Truck guns. The Ruger will stay in the truck, and the Taurus .380 semi will be out and about in the Royal Pocket!

At 26 oz, one could also use it to knock someone's head in, in close quarters!
This one comes with custom, larger than stock, 3 finger grip, also an added plus.:D:D

We've engineered vaccines and began administrating them, and they require development, within a year. Why hasn't the ammunition factories punched out ammo to catch up? If hoarders caused a surge or panic, then it's been enough time for manufacturing and restocking ammo like 357 and 22 rim fires. I just don't get it. Those ammunition foundries shoulda been able to just turn the dials up. It's not like creating a vaccine from scratch.

Maybe there's more profit in turning out less ammunition at a higher cost .
Then when the demand gets high enough you sell your new stock at an even higher cost .

there's a shortage?.. I just thought it was all the neckbearder's at academy sports buying it all...then selling it for a 400% markup... no shortage in my house!

They do. They've been running three shifts a day for the past year. Thing is, they don't want to front the capital to expand facilities and equipment, which will probably be completed just in time for the panic to die down, because it will take so much longer to recover the cost. From a business perspective, it makes sense for a conservative to moderate risk decision.

This is true about American manufacturers running flat out with their existing equipment, but even with them doing that, the new million or so gun buyers in 2021, are making demand go through the roof, therefore, on the retail level, the price goes up when demand goes up. Supply and demand.

Some of what KT has bought recently is obviously Russian made...white bears is is called in .380 semi-auto...bought just a few to see how they run in my pistol and how dirty they are. Black steel cases with cast lead bullets. The other day, KT had the choice of buying some additional rounds of that caliber and chose a box of American made ammo, same caliber. Brass casings with copper wash bullets. A better, cleaner firing product!
