My 1st barber!

Hunted a residence with permission this morning and found my 1st barber dime. I also found a 1948 Jefferson nickel a 1944 wheat and 1945 wheat

Congrats on your first barber. I was actually thinking of travelling to Bakersfield this weekend to detect. I have found a lot of silver and oldies up there!

You were absolutely right. I cleaned the nickel up and broke out my magnifier and it is definitely a 1943 nickel!

Best way to clean up that war nickel is to get some lemon juice and soak it over night and then rub it dry with some baking soda. that coin will POP! Then rinse with water, dry and throw it in a holder.
