Actually I think what Minelab has done is come up with what has become the expected norm in detectors. Deus, V3i, Makro, Nokta, Chaser, and a couple of others set the early bar and Minelab just matched them and upped them by one by combining all features and adding some niceties.
 
Great report...Can hardly wait for my own Equinox. As for all the other questions/hype, do what I'll do...wait for it and then put on 500 to 1000 hours the first year, and THEN make your comments. Til then, have a nice (frozen) day.
