Default Philadelphia trolley or bus token good for one fare

My first any help on dating or if a bus or trolley or ?

Very good question. In many cities tokens were still in use when when the transit companies were switching out rail cars for buses.

I'd say your token is probably for a trolley/electric street/rail car and pre-1940. That's based on the info I found line stating the PRT (Philadelphia Rapid Transit) dissolved in 1940 and became the PTC, which issued a different fare token.
