KT likes micromineral photography.
So in accordance to that here are some pictures taken with The Royal Chinese USB led microscope.
KT will explain each photo as those not familiar with minerals may not recognize the various mineral species imaged.
Pic 1 is native copper crystals from the Ray Mine, Ray, AZ. You can tell why copper is called the red metal. 10 X magnification.
Pic 2 is a starburst of black Hollandite, a manganese oxide mineral, encased in quartz from Madagascar, 20 X magnification.
Pic 3 is rutile hairs suspended in clear quartz from Brazil...so called Venus hair by the ancient Greeks, 10 X magnification.
Pic 4 is a topaz crystal perched on bixbyite, Topaz Mountains, Utah, 15X.
Down through the years KT has managed to assemble a collection of several 100 digital pictures of mineral species, these four are just a random grab from that photo archive.
Hope you enjoy them!
