The F22 at $250, is a decent old tech detector however, for a similar price (up to around $400) you can get detectors that are waterproof, have internal rechargeable batteries, wireless audio and really nice collapsible shaft systems and the latest single frequency, selectable single frequency or even simultaneous multi frequency operation.
If you were recommended that model from a generic Google search for best budget detector or something like that, trust me, those kinds of searches are not accurate.

I like the MXT E series detectors. They were released in 2002. They are a bit heavier than some of the newer detectors and they use 8AA batteries.
I do not like the DeepScan 1400DD coil one bit and my shoulder likes it even less. It is one, really heavy coil.
Is that the only coil being offered?
I owned one of those coils and I practically had to give it away.
