Trying to figure out what this key would have been for. My dad found it where he dug up trees years ago whom the owner called "The Four Brothers." The owner was pretty interesting and would be the type that would hide treasure. House was built in the early 1950s. There is a farm house which was his wife's parents next door. That house was built in 1895. In the 1970s his wife's family sold the rest of the farm to be developed for the current neighborhood around the farm house and where my parents live. So, any clue what this key would have been used for?

How about a lever lock? Its a double sided level tumbler lock most likely used for a deadbolt door.

I did find photos of safe keys that look like it but it is rather large. I thought it may be from some sort of farm equipment. I know the property was a large farm but it was odd it was where four trees were planted. I will be taking the detector over this weekend to see if I get a hit in the area. About 10 feet from where these trees were, I dug up an axe head and what looks like the head of a spade. Most likely will remain a mystery but still fun.
