I know that most know that the switches go on Cen tech pinpointers.
But I am posting this because I am proud of myself for soldering a new switch on. I got a push on push off switch from Radio Shack this afternoon.
I have tried soldering the electronics in my guitar and it didn't work. But this mod did.
Here are pics.

The duct tape is holding the switch in place. It is bigger than the old one and sticks up a bit.

As soon as I unbox a new Centech pinpointer I do three things to it. I replace the momentary contact switch with a SPST toggle switch, put a piece of tape over the speaker hole because it is too loud, and I pack the 9V battery in with a little piece of cardboard so it doesn't bounce around which otherwise leads to bad battery connection over time.

The stock momentary contact switch is definitely the weak link in this handy tool.

while it was apart that would of also been a good time ta add a micro vibrating motor in place of the speaker

Every time I pick one up I get one of those 99 cent flashlights they have too and just install that switch. saves me a trip to the hardware store. I've bough 4 and every one has taken a beating from the family and survived. taking a small screwdriver and jamming it into the speaker to dent the metal slightly will lower the pitch of that horrible "weeeeeeeeeee!" noise.
Just my 2c:D
