I read of all the people being intubated with the virus and all I can do is assume that it sucks. Hopefully, you forget it all or are not aware. It’s the one thing that scares me the most about the virus. Welcome back!!!
 
Very happy you are home and doing well. Thank the good Lord. It's wild how one normal, everyday step can be more than a fella bargained for. Anyhow, I enjoy your posts and knowledge and am glad you are on the mend!
 
As a noob here I haven't had the pleasure to get to know you OBN. So very happy that the end result of your harrowing ordeal will give me the opportunity to change that and get to know you.

Joe, ....DUDE...... be careful... I thought it would be a bull shark that did you in, not you ballooning up like the stay-puff-marshmellow man. Although I've never met you in person I feel like I know you a little. You've mod'ed the heck out of my Excal and we've had several small conversations over the past yrs. You're a Metal Detection inspiration to pretty much everyone on here as well as other forums. PLEASE be careful. The hunt isn't worth your health or life.. Glad you're recovering. ~Kevin
 
I know I already chimed in but would like to give Surf Master a big thank you for keeping us informed of the situation as well, otherwise we would all be wondering "hey, whatever happened to so and so". So, thank you Surf Master for keeping us all in the loop like a family would!

Glad you were able to chime in tonight , I know that you are not 100% buddy but it's nice to here from you , glad it wasn't a bull shark that got you , and you still have all your limbs , i bought life preservers plus class 1 for the boat to go out in the Ocean , by myself is risky , as if i fall over while the boat is moving , i am done with colder temperatures , i guess there are many hazard's out their in life , and don't use all the safety equipment we should, glad you pulled through , and sharing your story here , might help someone else one day, gold is not worth your life, as i said this a few times on here , your 68 now , no spring chicken , you want to beach hunt , come on down , ill make sure you don't go further than waist deep , ill put a red beacon light on your head , with a life vest , keep us informed Joe , wishing you 100% come back Joe , thanks Z , Joe is a good friend , even though i moved to the Eastern shore , doesn't matter , he like's hunting alone , that day hunting with a buddy would have been smart , ill always remember that other time he looked like the stay puff man , didn't wait for me to get their for a hunt , come walking across the parking lot stay puffed :lol:, he was yelling , i forgot to zip up my dry suit :shock: , gets in the car with water coming out the door, :D I am done Earl !:laughing::roll: Rest up Joe , gradually get back into thing's , don't over do it , Earl :thumbsup:

that cold water can be quite unforgiving - thankfully someone was nearby & heard u call for help - i think a lot of us here will certainly learn what we should have & take with us " just in case" a whistle is a damn good idea
i think someone else mentioned - u say embarrassing but i can certainly tell u
a lot of die hard hunters out there have had their share of close calls- i think we certainly do learn from them & help others too- Speedy Recovery OBN
 
Great to hear you got out of that in one piece and thank god people heard you. Hoping for a fast recovery, that gold will still be there when you're ready to go back for it.
 
Did you at least get some gold ? Will we see some gopro footage ? 🤣 Now might be the year of overtaking you in gold totals if you take a break. But really , it's great you're alive🙏. You owe the dog lady a wet sloppy kiss ! Also , don't you carry a cellphone ? And I wonder if a clip on knife or scissors would have helped to cut yourself out some and possibly swim to safety ? Idk. I may have been 1 of the 1st to see this and told Craig , but didn't want to post anything. I'm not sure if I would want everyone to know. But I'm glad you and Surfy are friends and for all his info. The 1st thing I think of when I hear OBN besides the gold is "Thank you Lord". Life is good....
 
OBN... I have tuned into your finds over the years and will say that is a terrible story. I am glad you are back and feeling better. Please look after your self in the future.

SO glad you're back! Seriously, very concerned for you, and grateful for the citizens who helped you in your recovery.

One of the things that I noted in your medical report was that your cardiologist noted that your condition may have been a result of a recent acute illness. Was that COVID-19, by chance? I ask, only because I'm starting to see a trend in heart damage by people who've had COVID.

Either way, I'm super happy that you made it back to us, and that you were watched over. I gotta say, for a nice guy like you, you've got to have some "bonus bucks" you've earned over the years in Karma.
