Fantastic finds, Gil !

I finally got my dog and pony show wrapped up yesterday. Got out for just a bit last night.

Here's the pic. Only one wheatie.

Todays entry

Two days actually. Sat morn behind ball field, and sun morning behind city library. The real black coins are mostly from the ball field. They show the results of regular high nitrogen feedings. The clean ones and most of the wheats come from the sandy soil behind the library. I found no silver, but I will make a couple more trips there. It has been hit hard in the past, but if the wheats are still there, so is silver.....Gil

Rough weekend so far. 9 hours digging on Sat. Another three Sunday for a pathetic 9.5 points.

wednesday morn

Scooted back to the library today. Everything was pulled up with a screwdriver with the exception of two wheats which were down in the 5 to 6 inch range. The 1941 nickle was sitting on top. A fresh drop, shows you old nickles are still circulating. Strange, I don't usually pay much attention to who is around, but noticed someone in a county vehicle watched me for an hour. They left when I did...??? I hate grassy areas, and really left a lot of targets cause they were too deep. Wish the beaches would reopen, hav'nt done any water hunting this summer. Going up north around Oct 1st. Should meet up with someone and do some heavy duty hunting. No silver again today, but it is there. i will have to resign myself to digging holes I guess. A few more points to the total..Gil

Friday morning

Hit three different spots over 3 hours. I wanted to do the library again, but there was a work crew from the city cleaning and cutting. Todays take, not much. I scored another merc and a wheat same hole. Besides that the usual.
Am I the only one who finds this heavy copper wire wherever I go?...Gil

This morning's finds. Was a lot of fun. Had the MXT turned way up. The thing was chattering like a beaver with buck teeth. Found 2 small pocket spills of 3 and 4 coins respectively. The nitro ring hurt. Another 19.75. better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick I guess.

Back to work

I went back to my volunteer job in a city about 25 miles from here. All city and some private property is open for me to hunt. I went to a park I hav'nt detected in 3 years. Digging up wheaties there was easier than clubbing baby seals.
I will be over there 3 to 4 times a week now with the city paying my expenses (gas and food) otherwise i could'nt justify 3 gallons of gas per trip to just detect. Here is the loot.....Gil

two parks

One hour at the place i found the buff on top. Found a war nickle about 10 feet away. a couple more wheat pennies there, and another good day today at another old smaller park downtown. The highlight there was a 1905 IH at about 8 inches. The silver ring was 5 freet away from that. A lot of wheaties
in this place, ya just hafta to dig the deep crappy signals....The nut...Gil

small park small hunt

Spent a little over 1 hour here today. Had to dig halfway to china for a rusted away jacknife. Somebody started to dig it and gave up. The mutha was deep. nifty token from Dunlap Tn.......Wonder if my partner knows that area. Came up a little short on wheats, but will go back again this week. This is an old park. Small places were allocated for parks back in the old days. Small population,= small park. There is good stuff here, just have to dig deep.
The surface hunters cleaned out most of the stuff to 6 inches. Here is the nut...Gil.
