thanks man...im getting ready to go today...gotta wait for the insurance company to open the office first so i can take care of a few things then im off to find more goodies....hopefully anyway.you been able to get out much lately?

wow...another great hunt.....id love to find that much silver in one outing. nice job!! i havent been able to get out much....i started training for my new job with the northampton county dept of corrections. i went out back to the old falling down barn behind my house today though....its been raining for the past couple days so when it let up to a drizzle i figured i might as well go out while i can. so i get back there and its still insanely thick with brush and high grass and i cant even really get close to the building itself. i dug a little buckle and a pair if metal glasses and the rain started coming down on me so i went back to the house. unfortunately that spot has to wait a little longer till the brush dies more and i can actually swing the coil. i did talk to one of my hunting buddies today and im meeting him at his grandparents house tomorrow for a hunt so i'll hopefully get some points going here rather than letting you do all the work. HH!!
 
good luck with your new job! what kinda buckle did ya find? was it a shoe buckle? buckles are one of my favorite things to find next to buttons. i got out for a bit this evening,stayed close to home and went to my neighbors house which ive pounded his property so i didnt expect much...found and old lip stick tube about 60 cents in clad and 1 wheat. im gonna go again in the morning,might go to the old drive end. ive got some clad i need to post as well..figure ill clean it all tomorrow and post it.
 
cleaned some clad today..found 3 wheat in with the clad and also a 1943 nickel and even a few cents from canada. 1 wheat is from yesterdays hunt and i found 4 this morning..the only coins i found this morning other that a clad quarter. im gonna have to start hidding the quarters i find lol my wife and daughter snatch them up quicker than i can clean em. good for 137 points

i'll put a pic up of it soon. were hooking up a new computer tomorrow so once everything is running i'll post. i thought the buckle was silver when i dug it b/c it had alot of black tarnish on it. i tried cleaning it with water and a brush and checked it out with my eyepice and didnt see any sliver stamping on it so i ran it through the tumbler and it turns out to be a copper core with a chrome like plating. its small though....not sure if its a shoe buckle....maybe a belt for a kid or something. today was another monsoon day....worse than the past couple. all this week i have trainging till 2 pm so i'll get a chance to go up to my buddys grandparents within the next few days. thanks for the good luck and HH!!

finds for the week...9 wheats and barber came from the old park found the rosie,token and 4 wheats this morning along with some clad at my daughters school. good for 165 points

drove around today with another member and hunted a few yards and a field...most is from today with some of the stuff from my short hunts through the week...315 points...ill get a better pick up soon,my camera is charging so i took it with my phone.

started huntin a new field today...its a crop field now but in the early 1800s it had a school then on my 1876 map there was a church,school and gen store then on my 1934 map the school was still there but none of the other buildings. found a 4 IH cents a no date capped bust 1/2 dime and a barber half that was hit by a plow or somthing,also found a couple wheats in the field and lots of misc whats its the rest of the stuff is from the past week hunts. good for 375.

Where do you find the maps like the ones you use? I would like to have some of my county.

the majority of mine come from the library but if your willing to pay for them historicmapworks.com is an excellent source...you can view them for free but its much better to have them in hand while driving around...i think it cost $2 to print one out.

wow man you got some goods hunts in while i was gone. sorry i havent been around....the new job has been taking up all my time. i have a sweet prospect hunt this saturday though....my uncle bought an old house in the town my dad lives in and the property borders where an old school used to be. last est. date that the school was used was sometime in the 50's. the area was one of the first utilized in the town though which was settled mid 1700's. hopefully....and i say hopefully....i can pull a couple good coins. now that you have a partner back maybe we can retake the lead on this contest. HH!!
