Once again the MD gods laugh at me I saw a bunch of saw horses up and thought "a side walk tear-up!". Nope, resurfacing a street and they don't seem to be removing all the asphalt nor tearing up the curbs
Found 3 items, only 1 is marked, and also has a maker's mark so could be the real deal. Earring (all bent up) is pretty flexible so it may be gold, and the end piece (snapped off) could have been one that had the hallmark? The top chain has no marks at all and it pretty light.
No kidding. I can't believe how many quarters and dimes I found in a small area between a picnic shelter and Ball Field #1. And all about 5 minutes from home. It adds up to almost $20 from that one spot alone. I would think it's safe to assume no one else has been MDing there, yet.... Now, I have to set the ACE for "all metal" and start digging those low tones that I have been ignoring. Maybe next week........
Here is more... and I haven't hit a couple of other good looking spots at this park! Now I need to go to the chiropractor to straighten out my neck from all the digging!
I have a bag full of them. I washed them to make them tolerable, but I have generally been picking up every one I see. I wouldn't be surprised if I have more than 500.... maybe a thousand!
Finds from my last 2 outings. Cents easy to come by at least! The twin wheat ears, both 1944 were a tot lot surprise. I'm guessing some kid broke into their parents' piggy bank The junk bracelet was on the surface and the Ace didn't beep when it went over it. That had me perplexed until I looked at what the Ace was reading it as: junk Talking about adding insult to injury
Anyway the mess adds up to 44.25 points.
I still have 319 cents to photograph (I have a spreadsheet going to keep track of how much I found and what has been documented to make it official).
Here is the long anticipated pile of pull tabs. I have another pile started; but here is the first 1000
Also, a modest amount of clad and a junk ring that I thought was going to be the real deal. I tried to get a good shot of the marking on the inside, but it's quite worn.
Well heck, I had to have a reason to pick them up, bag em, clean em a little and then count and photgraph them. If you look at the scoreboard, If I pick up another 5000 or so, it could make a difference!!
