You probably need to be from the PA Dutch area to know they are made only once a year and are the best. My wife ran to the local Catholic parish at 3am this morning to pick up a couple dozen. Any other time of the day and you are waiting in line for hours.

Yep, got similar things here for Fat Tuesday. A similar culinary treat is the Polish Pączki. We pronounce them poonski. And oh, are they good.
