Hi. I have had a Simplex for a couple of years now. This year I am using the little SP24 coil, and it has been a delight. Out of the jewelry so far this year, are two 925 rings, a 10k and an 18k rings. I just ordered the big SP35 with the idea that of more coverage in the water. I didn't use the Simplex in fresh water all that much last year, but I did experiment a bit with the settings. It seemed that just about any setting worked in the water. Although I didn't try field....What is your preferred water setting please. I'll try to post some of this years finds to keep this post real.

Yes sir, Eraserhead, lol. I have slightly alternative views on some life aspects, while still maintaining a moral core. Thanks for the comment. I'll go out with that big Simplex coil after it arrives and play around with it in the water. The only real way I suppose of seeing what it does in the local lake conditions. I got the 11x14 ? Reaper coil recently for my old AT Pro. Man what a head heavy brick for weight ! If it was slightly unbalanced/coil heavy when bought new, it's really noticeable now. But I like and trust that old machine and still have fondness for it. Best of luck to you all and my whining passes as soon as I arrive at a lake ! :D I don't get to do a ton of fresh water detecting, but I do find it super exciting to swoosh a lake.

Thanks for the post, i had not heard of the SP35. Now i want one for the beach. When was it introduced? Please report on yours when you get it.

Wow nice rings! I dont have a simplex but I prefer running 2 tone in the water/sand on my Equinox and also the multi Kruzer which is similar to the simplex.

I have the largest size coil for the Kruzer but find it only good for short hunts because it's quite heavy after an hour or 2.

Unsure when it was released buddy. I heard talk of it during the winter, then I forgot about it. I got an SP24 for the Simplex (totally love it). And the 11x14 Reaper coil for my old AT Pro, (Man that thing is crazy coil heavy now). I saw it available here in Canada about week ago so I jumped on it. Actually I wanted the mega coils for fresh water lakes. I should be able to get it from post office this Monday/Tuesday, for an amateur evaluation.

I got a big coil (Reaper?) for my Garrett ATP. I wont even use it due to the weight and head heavy bias. The Simplex coil however is much more manageable. Its weight is just under the, too much for extended use, side of the scale. I notice it at end of a hunt, but I'm not arm crippled. An ounce or two more might have put it over the line for me. Of the four Simplex coils, I have three of them. My favorite is the SP-24. Its a delight all around.
