Thanks guys for the replies and encouragement! 100 silvers isn't a lot for the Captain, but I basically skipped the first quarter of the season and didn't hunt too often until about 7 weeks ago, when I started putting up
the numbers like in the 200+ silver seasons of the past. So, tomorrow's storm will be a strong one here, especially along the coast, which will definitely stir the sand up and hopefully strip some of it away...plan is to hunt during the storm, providing there's no lightning:shock: Anyhow...the only way to remove the sand from the GW was to cook it with the cellphone charger for about a 1/2 hour...at least it's shiny now:lol: about the coil cover...without the extra yellow piece added over the coil cover to protect the leading edge, the cover would be worn thru in a week. I scrub the sand with the coil, and these beaches are like hunting atop a cheese grater what with all the rocks and debris. I've knocked covers off and lost them, once had one shatter into shrapnel on a 5 degree day winter morning as the clevis on the lower rod snapped...at least with the cover tie wrapped on, when I look down occasionally it...should still be there:laughing:
