Seated Dime Caps 2 Weeks and a Milestone

Great finds , photos and play by play Trapper ! That's the way to do it !
I'm looking forward to my next Seated (if I should be so lucky ) . It's been a lot of years since my last .Super Congrats on all your achievements !
Appreciate you reply Doc, thank you. Seated's don't come around that often for me only dug 2 out of 363 Silver Coins last year. So it is a great pleasure to pull one. Hope you can again have that thrill again very soon.
Trapper, you never cease to amaze me with those silver finds. Finding a seated dime and then three wars and of course all the rest is amazing. I think you could find silver in a flower pot if you wanted to. Major congrats!
Actually four War's, one each in four consecutive hunts. Never experienced that ever before. You know I have dug Silver John in flower beds but I do have my doubts with any flower pots.:lol:The old Nickels this year has been a great thrill.
Nice to see your getting out and able to dig. Congratulations on the silver. It will be a while before I can get out because I got hit with that dam blizzard last night with a foot of snow on top of the many feet still on the ground. Won't be long now before you blow by me at 38 . This is the only bad thing about living so far north.
Thank you Mike for your reply. With this chaos going on I got to pick and choose when and where I can hunt. So even reaching 38 is going to be a huge challenge. Looking forward to things getting some normalcy so plans can be made to pursue some dreams. Trapper

Huge congrats on 1600 career silvers Trapper.:D I really like the huge key and the Seated, you surely don't see many of the latter by us! And yes, a little less chaos and a little more normalcy would do us all a lot of good.

Awesome job! Love the buffalo and seated! I dont know why, but i am a sucker for a good looking merc. Something about how the look really attracts me to them. Love the key. Congats on the great hunts! HH and good luck!

Amazing finds Trapper! As always, you are a Silver Magnet! Nice Seated, War Nickels, Mercs and more!
Thank you David. Very kind words indeed. Door knocking is not happening here with the health chaos so hunting the old territories with a little different plan has to be the plan. Pretty lucky so far it has work pretty well although I hate the way the trash level has gone up.
Annnndddddd....he’s off. That key is a farkin’ WHOPPER man! What in the HELL were they opening with THAT? I happen to love skeleton keys BTW, so don’t leave that one layin’ around, fair warning!;)
Your reply Kevin is greatly appreciated. It brought a big smile to my face as I will reply to my first thoughts on the key. Seeing it and it is huge brought memories of the westerns when some lawman was locking up a murderous polecat in the old jail cells. The key ring filled with keys this size. That was the first thing I said to Joy when I got home. Funny thought also from my childhood.... Those Key Rings always with a half dozen keys minimum and two or three cells max and they never got the wrong key into the lock always wondered why.
Nice haul Trapper. That seated dime is nice!
Thanks Jonny. The Seated was a very nice surprise the site dates to the 1880's so I'm pretty sure it was lost before the turn of the 1900 century. It was down about nine inches so it is my hope to dig a couple of Indians and some other older Silver from here before I finish hunting it. Trapper

Onward to 500 FTY! Congrats on the 1600. Living through everyone else posting lately!

The key and seated dime are awesome. Congrats on the nickel trifecta, sterling and the rest!
Thank you Jason. Hoping this site has a lot more goodies hiding in these tight places as I am going back the next few days. It was nice to get another Seated as they just don't show very often. Only dug two last year out of 363 Silver Coin's.

Thanks Anthony. Going back to see if there are any more oldies hidden. Would really be nice if I could add a few Indians to the coffers. The chaos is really out of hand so I really would like it if things cleared up fairly quickly.

Thank you Richey. Starting to build a small herd of Buffalo Nickel's. I just love digging those and the "V"s. The Key is pretty unique and it was a thrill digging it. Trapper

You've had an excellent set of hunts, Trapper! The nickel trifecta, skeleton key, and turquoise ring are really cool finds! Do you have an idea on the age of the key? Nice job uncovering your 1,600th silver coin, too! Even though you're not planning on doing as much hunting this year, you're already having a great season. Keep it up!

Great report Trapper and huge congrats on 1600 career silvers. The skeleton key is cool, I have yet to find one of any type. And the seated? I can only dream. Here's to good health and good hunting!

Holy cow Trapper! Beautiful coins, key and ring. That seated is just amazing - can’t imagine the feeling finding that in the ground! Like the buffs, but the key and seated are simply amazing! Congrats!

Gotta love when those seated ladies make an appearance, a fantastic report Jack, congrats!
No doubt Jeff digging any Seated Silver is special and pretty rare in these parts.Hope there is some others at this site that I can stumble over. Trapper
Congrats on yet another great group of hunts Trapper!!! I freaking love that seated!!!!
Thank you Travis. Hope the next few hunts go as well. Maybe add a few Indians to the mix along with a little more old Silver. have not seen Toad in a while is all well with him? Trapper
Congrats on the Seated Dime, the rest of the finds and all the silvers, especially #1600...outstanding work Trapper!
Really appreciate your reply Bruce, thank you. The plateaus fallen this last two years have seemed very unreal to me. For most part being inspired by you and a couple others on this forum are the reason for my success, for that I am very thankful. Trapper

Wow, Trapper what a start to the season! Congrats on the all the silver and your milestone of 1600 silver coins!!

Thank you Jerry for your reply. Don't think 500 will be anything but a fantasy this year. Have a few other commitments on the schedule that will take priority over swinging the coil. Staying safe is also a very high priority.

Kind words Chelsea, thank you. Just getting the opportunities that I have had is a great blessing. With all the chaos going on now being safe will take priority over all my expectations this year. Trapper
Huge congrats buddy those are great finds. I love the old american silver!!
Thanks Louie. Wish there were a lot more opportunity in this area of the country to dig more American history and Coins. For now anyway once in a great while getting lucky to put my coil over a old one will have to suffice. Trapper

Trapper, yes sir Toad is good. We went out yesterday morning, and he skunked me lol. He has just been a busy bee lately.

Great wright up and some fantastic finds. 1,600 silver coins, that's terrific. The Rosey I found yesterday makes 1,201 for me. After nine years of detecting I've found one skeleton key, and one seated dime. Well, I did find an 1835 dime about a month ago. Keep up the good work and stay safe.
HH everyone
