I'm looking for the best long handle sand scoop I can get. Any suggestions? Is CKG worth the money?

Your going to want to buy quality, or you will end up buying quantity. Learned that the hard way  I have the 720i and though I don't get to use it nearly as much as I'd like, it's getting close to 5 years old and still in good shape. I could see it lasting me easily another 5-10 years (knock on wood). I also paid it off with one find. I have tried most of the lower priced scoops, and if your serious about hunting the beach hard, they just will not last. I was buying a new one almost every year. Good luck with whatever you decide!

You may also be able to find a good used one but they don't come up often. I purchased two used Xtreme scoops over the last two years. Sold the first one I bought when I found a updated V2 used on fleabay that the seller was a pawn shop 45 mins from my house. Saved additional money by picking it up in person and saving them the trouble of shipping it to me.

I bought the cheapest decent looking sand-scoop without a handle I could find on Amazon (Was a stainless steel scoop for about $49) and bought a $12 wooden rake handle from the big box store to put on it. Wound up cutting about 2 1/2 feed off the end to make it shorter for my personal taste (and to fit in the trunk of my car without having to haul it stretching from the front passenger seat floor to behind the rear driver seat). The scoop is, I think, fairly good quality. So eventually I'll invest in the spiffy collapsible lightweight carbon fiber handle thing and have something that both looks and functions nicely instead of looking ugly as sin but working quite well. Can make your handle whatever length you want using that method. :)
