I have this saber and this bayonet that my father inherited from his father, beyond that we have no history on them.
The saber has the maker's mark MOLE, which I understand was an english sword maker, but I'd love to put a date range or even a model to it.

The bayonet is massive. It has on one side the mark S&K, on the other side there is a proof mark on both the blade and the handguard. I can't really make out what it is, it could be an anchor.

Mole is a rare maker with only 60,000 bayonets made by 1917, with Wilkinson Sword making 2,360,000. On the reverse could be a stamp with inspection marks and an "X" along with the War Department 'Crows Foot'.

Figured it out

After browsing different sabers online for way too long, I figured out that it is a British pattern 1821 light cavalry trooper's sabre, likely imported to the Confederacy at the start of the war. How cool is that?
