I love buying old cast iron cookware at yard sales and restoring it. This week I picked up this 85 year old skillet for $15 and brought it back to life. This one goes for $150 to $200 bucks on eBay but I’m keeping it.

Nice, looks great! I have a blackstone tabletop griddle I use every winter for ice fishing. I heat it up and scrape it all off, and then wipe it down with paper towels. When I take the thing out next winter it's severely rusted. What's the secret to keeping cast iron from rusting over time? I don't like the thought of consuming year old rust every winter, any tips on keeping it clean?

After you heat it and scrape it off wipe it down with a damp rag. Then heat it again and coat it with oil. I prefer avocado oil but any cooking oil will do. Then heat again and let it cool. Should be good to go next year.

Looks amazing! I love old cast iron. My mom gave a me a Dutch oven that she received from a friend, he was a cook when he was in the service. It’s massive. It’s my favorite piece. Great job on the restoration
