I was reluctant to do permissions with the dry summer we had, but we've had rain lately and it's getting late in the season so I tried a couple this week. I asked at two places and they were both friendly and interested.
First place was from the 30's and I found 5 wheat pennies (from 36-48) and a 1940 Mercury. The dime was badly tarnished, but since it wasn't rare I did some hard core cleaning to make it look pretty.
Stopped at a nearby farm this am. Not sure how old but it shows on my 1937 map. First 45 minutes turned up 5 toy cars (not sure if they are tootsie yet). Then I got another 30-32 signal and figured another toy. Nope. My first Standing Liberty Quarter! Found 3 modern coins after that but had to leave for lunch.
