CT Curt and I had been trying to do a dirt hunt for a couple years now, and today was the day we finally got to go. Bueller met us at a 30's schoolyard/ballfield a couple towns over and we hunted for what seemed like all day...the time goes slow when you're with good friends having fun:yes:...here's what I found with the GT that wasn't scrap metal or clad...

[/IMG] My wheat to silver ratio is shot to hell now:lol: I dug another 10 today to put me over 400 for the year...but I also scored a pair of Mercs...silvers #199 and #200

[/IMG] The last couple seasons I took the skunk on the first hunts for #200, but this year I was able to get it on the first try:dance: Well, that's it for now, so until the next silvers...thanks for the looks and Happy Hunting!

Bruce glad you did not put off getting to the 200 plateau on the Silver Coins. Consistency of doing it for 3 years in a row is impressive. Also very glad that you joined me on reaching 400 Wheat's as my ratio is much more worse than yours. I hope the Silver train continues the rest of the year. Congrats! Jack

I had a blast hunting with you guy's. It was good to finally get some dirt hunting in with you. Was great to meet Bueller as well. I didn't hit any Silver, but I gotta say it was fun watching the pros at work.... I got a couple wheats, and lots of trash. Like I told you, I was digging everything. Will post pics in a new thread after todays beach hunt. You know where I'll be..:D Congrats on this years milestone my friend, you worked hard for it. Congrats to Bueller as well. Great hunting guys.....Curt

Good work on hitting 200 Bruce, was happy I could be there for that.

Great to meet and hunt with you as well Curt. We'll have to head up to your neck of the woods one day and you'll have home field advantage! ....Chris

Last year I dug a silver version of that kids ring! It's one of my favorite finds.

Congrats on reaching 200 FTY (something I have never come close to) as well as get that many so many years in a row.

Thanks to everyone for the replies so far...and to KAdiggs for the id on the ring. Was definitely a different year for me, along with the dirt digging I took on beach hunting the correct way, got the right gear for the beaches I visit, went into the water and learned from the masters...I started the season with a Walker Half and the dime trifecta on New Year's Day out in the woods, and found silvers in the surf and the turf using 8 detectors (so far) Craig's spare GT, my GT, both my Excals, a pair of Omegas, a Eurotek Pro and a Delta 4000...running the GT/Excals on the beach taught me to slow down and hunt by tones, and the last 3 weeks learning the dirt with the GT have gone well. Bueller thinks I should try out a Etrac next...says I'd have no trouble finding silver with one:yes:

Nice work Captain!!

You live up to your handle well Sir, congrats!

That car looks really cool! That ring is neat too cooler than a modern stainless steel for sure, sometimes those old kids rings a fun to find!
