Only in the philippines

You have no idea how on the mark you are with this one Gary, when you run for office you are expected to had out bribes to the voters to vote for you. A lot of people pocket money from the campaign workers for every one running. The winning mayor will often punish the districts that didn't vote for him , by cutting services to them and rewarding districts that did with extra projects.

:hmmm: ......how might it look if Mud became mayor ?

Well, perhaps Ken could be his cultural advisor, and David could be part of the transportation dept.:laughing::laughing:

Also, maybe "Mayor Mud" would first legalize metal detecting everywhere in the Philippines and have local government encourage metal detecting clubs, then he could impose a 20% tax on all detector purchases (paid to him) and also all detectorists would have to give him 20% of all their finds, a "finds" tax.:laughing::laughing:

verry good

Mud should love that idea.

No! Too much responsibility! Although I certainly would encourage metal detecting anywhere and anytime a guy feels like it, maybe even institute a "Base Pay" program for addicts, as well as $1 per pulltab redemption centers and free batteries of course......

To help clean up your beaches over there trade new batteries for each 5 lbs of aluminum beer and soda pull taps and cans turned in. You could have the aluminum melted down made in to tokens to pay the local workers , redeemable at the Mud general store . There is enough aluminum you could probably have you roof covered in it, or have some of it made in to light weight sand scoops. You could have all the plastic bottles melted down to make lounge chairs and picnic tables in front of your resort.

Hey, with your mode of transportation at least you save on fuel costs :laughing::laughing:

David told me about Ken's "great wall of the Philippines" and that he was hunting for gold, so I was wondering how it all looked now.

Could Ken have found the gold, bought adjoining properties, and had an even longer "great wall" built ?:laughing::laughing:

Every trip to the Philippines it seems Ken has a major project waiting for him , new wall for the back yard , new roof, home repairs , car repairs, all ways some thing. Ken is normally doesn't know ahead and has to work it in to his budget. That means he probably has to go out to the back yard and dig up some of that hidden Japanese gold bars and silver coins, from World War II he has hid there.

Well , it worked that time.

I was reading a page back about Barrbie dolls and toys. I have a few pictures to share with you. I will see if this works...

Glad you posted a picture of the toys you bring over for the poor rural kids, they are very appreciative of them . Most kids are luck to get a new set of clothes or shoes for Christmas let alone a toy. Most of the rural poor just barley get by and it takes most of the money they make just to keep , some fish, rice , and maybe a little chicken or pork on the table to feed their families.
When Ken comes to visit it is like Christmas and he and the wife are Santa Clause and Wife. He might come from the North Pole for all they know , after all America is a very far off place full of rich people. A piece of American candy or a small toy, or brand new school supplies makes their day , every bit of clothing Ken brings over for the adults & kids will be worn till it is falling apart, nothing goes to waste.

Soon it will be time for Ken to come home

I think we have all had a lot of fun with Ken's visit to the Philippines this year, while his health didn't let him do all the things he would of liked to, there is next trip to look forward to. Soon he will be returning to winter/spring weather away from the tropical heat of the Philippines. He and his wife will start collecting toys , school supplies , and lots of clothing for their next trip. Looking forward to any more pictures and stories he has time to post before leaving on that very long trip home.

How did I know that was going to happen.

All you guys on here this year have made my trip here a lot more fun.
We are do home on the 19th this month.
It has been a little hard for me because of my problem. The thing that bothers me the most is the wind. It dries my eye very fast. very fast when you can not blink. When I wear my patch, It messes up my 3 demention. It also screws up my balance , so I have to be careful walking. Getting in and out of them Jeepnys is very hard with one eye.
Well, so much for the blabber.
Thanks again for the friendship and fun. If the wind stays down, Maybe I can get some shots of the transportation.
KEN :D
