One Year Later with the Tracker IV

That is one awesome first year. I'm curious, how many hours a week do you figure you average hunting?

Not as many as I'd like!

On a good week I'd say 8 hours. On a lousy week much less. When the ground is frozen and covered with snow zero.

I usually hunt Saturday mornings from dawn to about 11. Sometimes I get out on Sundays too. On weekdays when the weather is not too hot or too cold, I sneak out for quick hunts on lunch.

It's difficult to estimate an average... probably around 5-6 hours a week if I had to make my best guess.

I really think I could quadruple that number and would still want to get out more.

OK, that helps a lot. Sounds like you're off to one heck of a start and I wish you more & more good finds. As soon as I get the dough put together I am going to buy the White's MXT. I've decided that's the one for me with the varied areas I'll be working in.

Back a "hundred years ago" I found 2 Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollars with my Heath Kit Built Metal Detector (my first one). I'll never forget the thrill. They were about 6 feet apart and I found them as I was walking, and skimming the ground, toward some old school bleachers in Lincoln, Illinois. I'll bet if I had the new technology of today I would have found a lot of oldies.

Z - That's great!
If you all notice the average hunt time for Z a week is 5-6 hours. I don't know about Z but that for me would be 2 - 3 hunts a week. I'm lucky if I get in one hunt a week. In order to find stuff you gotta swing. Stuff just doesn't materialize into those pictures that were shown. Good luck in the next year!

z118 i also use a bh iv but i know now why i havent found clad in our tot lots you found it all i bought the machine in apr i try to get out at least once a wk i mostly hunt ghost towns here in upstate ny oldest coin so far 1812 token lots of wheats 1 1918 quater 1 1902 liberty half im very pleased with my bh mannnn im impressed with your finds good luck in the future scott

You know i have a pioneer 101 which is the same as the tracker IV, at first I thought all i would find is surface coins, and i have found coins in the 3-4 range, but now seeing your finds, i know that i can find the loot also, thanks for the post, going to go out and start my years finds too.

just got my tracker iv recently, wasnt sure if i made the right choice. but after reading your post i know i did. were in it for the fun, right. enjoyed the pics. hadnt really give a lot of thought with some kind of box to keep up with finds. the plastic trays would fit in my MD bag good. thanks
