What do you do in the offseason when you cannot detect? Here in Colorado, as you can probably tell by my forum handle, I am a licensed Amateur Radio Operator. I also barbecue competitively with my father. I sometimes will look at various websites (including Google Earth) for ideas on where to hunt in the spring, summer and fall months.

I am frustrated/:?: that it doesn't seem that Wyoming detecting regulations even let people detect. It seems to me that, in my detectorist mind, the whole state of Wyoming is labled as a national park. Can someone clarify this for me?

Competitive barbecue sounds like fun, I used to have a neighbor that was into ham radios, I would see his basement lights on into the wee hours, best time for a signal i guess. For me it's deer hunting and trap shooting.

No offseason for me either...when the grass and dirt turns to concrete and the woods get covered in a foot of snow, there's always the beach to hunt. The salt water can get slushy but usually doesn't freeze solid:lol:

I'm not gonna try to have an offseason this year. If the water don't freeze up, I'm not stopping.
If it does, well.......the wife's been buggin me about redoing the bathrooms. All 3 of them.

Metal detecting is my off season hobby...:D

My time is near..

Can't answer the second question. But as for the first, I live in Florida on the east coast. so the off season starts as soon as the snow birds arrive. They are already here. So I detect and fish a little.

That's right, no off season in Florida. However, July and August are rather tough months to be swinging an MD.

I have a shop where I build custom British bikes. Got a woodstove and a big stack of wood so I will be rolling out a couple nice chops by spring.

I will be finishing up my one off Blazer called "The Mistress". I still need to design trac bars and front shock towers.

Due to the time zones that was probably the best time for him to make contact with his handler in Moscow. :D

This will be my first off season for md'ing but I'll be hunting, trapping and ice fishing...if we get ice.

No real off season here either. That said, I am also a competition BBQ Judge and restore/collect old Coleman camping gear such as lanterns and stoves.
